"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" ...I bet she didn't have half the trouble some of us do. Split ends, straw-like, oily, greasy, knotted, matted... yes, we've all been there. There comes a time when you feel the ends of your hair and just think "urgh, no." Well that's exactly how I felt the other day, anyway. To be honest, it's no wonder that sometimes our hair doesn't really feel like it has the "WOW!" factor with the amount we put it through; blow drying, straightening, curling, pinning.. it all takes its toll.
Let me give you a hair-y history. When I was younger I had lovely, long, thick locks that went down to my elbows, and it was always a dark brown/black colour. When I was about 15 I decided that I wanted it choppy and shorter... and boy did I get it short. I didn't actually want it as short as the hairdressers did it, but it wasn't her fault, she'd been doing my hair since I was a toddler and she was more old school styles than new, so she did her best. It ended up just above my shoulders and no amount of straightening could sort it out, I was devastated! Then when I was about 16 I went on a stupid health kick and my hair started literally falling out in clumps everywhere - the bath looked like it had gone mouldy! So after then, my hair remained really thin and never seemed to get any real length in it. I started wearing clip in hair extensions then about two years ago I started wearing glue bonds, which I'll review in a later post. I loved them, really, really loved them! Then this summer I went back to wearing clip-ins, again, this will all be explained in a later post.
I also went through periods of dying my hair, when I had my glue bonds in I dyed my hair jet black and left it that way for about a year.. so when I decided it was time to dye my hair a different colour, it just wasn't working. No matter what colour I went it just kept getting darker and darker. Rachel recommended her hairdresser to me so I went there and had my hair stripped back to my natural (or as natural as possible!) colour, and dyed it a plum/red colour... and I absolutely love it! For years ever since Cheryl Cole showcased her red locks on the X Factor, that's the colour I've wanted to be. I was that colour about three years ago, but it wasn't as bright as it is this time round and I personally think it looks fantastic! I use L'Oreal Feria P37 Plum Power on my hair and it leaves it in a really lovely condition.

Afterwards, I dried my hair as usual. According to the packet, I was to expect my hair appear full of volume, but that didn't happen. It also didn't really leave my hair feeling better than ever, I wasn't exactly shouting "Because I'm worth it!" and swishing my hair about after using it, but it did leave it feeling a little softer once it was dry, and smelling like oranges. Overall I don't think I'd buy this product again, as for a little extra cash you can buy a better quality product. I do, however, highly recommed their face masks, I've used them for years and they really are wonderful! You can visit their website here.
Montagne Jeunesse are BUAV approved and carry the jumping bunny logo, which states that they are against animal testing - their products are even suitable for vegetarians!
Until next time...
