What I Wore – 11/8/12.
So as I already mentioned, it was my boyfriend’s birthday, and spurred on by my
versatile dresses post and the need to break in my new boots, I wore this.
The dress is from Topshop and honestly, I can’t remember how
much it was, but I know that it’s probably more aptly described as a tunic, but
I’m only 5ft 3, so can get away with tunics as dresses. The tights are also
Topshop, as is the necklace - £7.50 and leather jacket - £165. I know, I know. Head to toe Toppers.. well, almost!
In contrast, the boots seem incredibly cheap at £22 from
Tesco! After my nightmare with the Topshop boots, Tesco was the last place I
expected to find a pair of boots. I had actually given up trying to find a pair
that matched up to the Topshop ones. Looks wise at least. The last thing I wanted was another pair to match up the the incredibly poor expectations the old ones had left me with.
So there I was, buying Mediterranean vegetables, and they caught my eye. Faith in ankle boots renewed, I bought them on a whim and haven’t looked back.

This outfit was their first real test as they had to be
suitable to drive in and walk in without falling to bits after two or three
hours. They managed that, so they already beat the old ones. I managed to
drive, go for a meal, walk on the sea front and play air hockey and Mario Kart
in the arcades, all while looking a little bit taller next to my almost 6ft
boyfriend.
In short, these boots are fantastic!
So let that be a lesson girls. Love often does turn up in
the unlikeliest of places when you’ve stopped searching. And sometimes the
Topshop boots must literally fall apart for something better and more durable
to come together…
